Zschokke Day : Camera is Running !
This meeting brought together around 200 Zschokke descendants as the starting point for shooting Adrian Zschokke's film.

A Worthwhile Afternoon
200 descendants of Heinrich Zschokke met on December 1st in Aarau in advance of the famous politician and writer’s 250th birthday.
Some family members, a mixed bouquet from all three tribes, have come : Dorothee with Christoph from Bavaria, Olivier Escarfail from Avallon, Michael Fleiner from Ticino, Marie-Therese Krähenbühl from Eastern Switzerland, Peter Fleiner from Lucerne and finally Anne and Dominique from the old town of Aarau (almost across the street !)
The Zschokke Gesellschaft as the organizer of the meeting had put together a rich program that became a success, no wonder with this professional cast : The initiators and filmmakers Matthias and Adrian Zschokke showed historical sequences from earlier Zschokke days, samples of their upcoming film about the jubilee in the KUK, Congress and Culture House. They also filmed during the meeting. The film in progress will have its premiere in 2021.
Furthermore, one saw and heard lectures and theatrical contributions in a relaxed presentation: Actor Kaspar Lüscher as Heinrich Zschokke, reading letters – songs from archives (yes !) composed by Zschokke – performed by Yvonne Nef and the female choir Voca-Ladies. In turn, the Zschokke researcher Holger Bönisch reported on Zschokke’s status as a writer in Germany. Biographer Werner Ott and Professor Jakob Tanner talked about the liberal government commissioner of the Helvetic Republic, the historian Brigitt Flüeler about the conflicts in Central Switzerland, presented in the local dialect. Government Councilor Thomas Pfisterer, the initiator of the Zschokke Society, and short readings in four languages by Zschokke’s young descendants rounded off the rich, witty literary menu, which was afterwards reflected in the culinary buffet.
